16-17TH C. BRONZE U-THONG BUDDHA

This is a U Thong "C" style buddha.  It is the favorite style of U Thong, and the type most commonly seen.  Contrast it to the "A" style in Gallery 5, which is the earliest style.  The "B" style, which is not represented on the site at present, has a more squared off face and more Khmer like features.  He stands 18 1/2 inches tall, and has a complex mostly red with green burial patina.  There is a small scratch on the base (visible in picture), otherwise condition is perfect.  Ones of this age and condition are getting impossible to find.  I have had several others of this type;  I think that this one is the best.
