18TH C. AMARAPURA BUDDHA

The city of Amarapura is 10km south of Mandalay.  It has twice been the capital of Burma, in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.  The buddha style of this city is the precursor of the Mandalay style.  This is a lovely detailed example, standing 12 inches high, with a slightly darker patina than the picture portrays.  Condition is excellent.
