LARGE 18TH C. WALKING SUKHOTHAI BUDDHA

Try as I might, I simply could not get a really good picture of this buddha.  It is significantly more attractive than the picture.  The complex burial patina does not render well.  I have included below a picture of the face so that you may see the complexity and beauty better.  This buddha belonged to a retired official who supervised excavations many years ago.  This buddha is very substantial, at 28 inches tall and very heavy.   Walking Sukhothais are the most graceful of all Thai buddhas.
