19TH C. RATTANAKOSIN BUDDHA

This is a remnant of a buddha, representing most all of the front half.  Whether is was not cast properly and cracked, or was broken at some point is not clear.  In either event, I was totally taken with the young, wise face, and the gracefulness of the form.  It stands 16 inches high, 19 with the base.  A powerful piece.
