17TH - 18TH C. THAI BUDDHA HAND This is probably the best buddha hand that I have seen. It has wonderful proportions, and graceful fingers, and a great patina. It has been mounted on a custom stand. The hand is in vitarka mudra, which represents "the gesture of debate" - explaining the buddha's teachings. It stands 8 inches high, 11 inches with the base. Unusually good provenance - comes with a copy of the original import document from 1962. There are so many copies of hands around, but this is authentic and beautiful.
