15TH - 16TH C. BRONZE CHIANG SAEN BUDDHA

This buddha has it all - age, lovely form, serene face, artistically carved lotus base, and large but manageable size.  I obtained him in far northern Thailand from a retired Thai army general and collector.  I would keep him myself if I were not blessed with a small apartment.  He stands a full 21-1/2inches tall, with a deep brown patina, and much green patination on the back, probably the result of burial.  The back has been cleaned, but the front appears to be largely untouched.  This is one of the premier pieces that I have sold.
