SUPERB 17TH C. LAOTIAN BRONZE BUDDHA

The story of this piece is similar to that of the Buddha footprint.  I saw it and thought it was fantastic, but the price was too high.  I left Thailand but continued to think about it, and regretted not buying it.  So a while later I called there and was able to negotiate a lower price, thanks to the SARS scare.  Thailand’s tourist industry was  severely and unfairly devastated by SARS, even though they had virtually no cases.  So visit there;  it’s a wonderful country.   Anyway, this Buddha is 17 ½ ” tall, with a gorgeous green patina, and is in pristine condition.  About the best Lao Buddha outside of a museum we have seen in our travels.
