18TH C. WOODEN TRIBAL LAOTIAN BUDDHA

Recently acquired, this buddha has a wonderful patina, as well as charm, power, and depth.  As with some other Lao buddhas, it looks almost African, and has the "primitive" quality that everyone looks for in a tribal piece.  It stands 18 1/2 inches high.    The wonderful aesthetic of these makes it equally beautiful in ultramodern or antique decor.  $1600
