18TH C. BURMESE MON TERRACOTTA BUDDHA

I have never seen another Burmese terracotta remotely as complex and elaborate as this. And I have never seen a Jambupati style buddha executed in terracotta.  This should give an idea of the rarity of this piece.  Other remarkable aspects are that this piece is 18th c., and every other piece I have ever seen is 19th or later.  Further, most of these figures get smashed or severely damaged, and it is quite rare to find one like this which is virtually intact.  16 inches high;   remains of the typical green and brown glazes used in these ceramics (see archives, row 6 and 27).  Restoration to the finial.  This is another piece I was contemplating keeping for own collection, due to the rarity, style and presence.  $2700
