18TH C. SHAN JAMBUPATI HEAD

A superb example of the Jambupati style of Shan buddhas.  This head has it all - style, detail, size, and patina.  It stands 21 inches high, 25 with the stand.  There are losses to the front and the nagin on the left shoulder as pictured, but this is a gorgeous and powerful piece.  I doubt that I will see one as good again.
