19TH C. MANDALAY TERRA COTTA TILE

This tile makes me smile.  It was found in Northern Thailand, but is Burmese Mandalay style.  If you love Majolica, this has the same whimsy and life.  I do not know the significance of the dancing rats specifically, although rats are auspicious symbols there as in China.  It is 12 inches tall, 13 1/2 with the custom base, and 9 1/2 inches wide.  Old repairs to several cracks.
