18TH C. RECLINING BUDDHA

This is the best reclining buddha that I have seen in quite a while.  Its graceful form and dark, even patina (somewhat darker and more uniform than the picture), as well as the large size, make it a real treasure.  Reclining buddhas portray either the Buddha sleeping (feet together), or the Buddha on his deathbed making his transition to Nirvana (feet uneven).  This buddha is quite large, being 21 inches long, and the condition is pristine.  a real beauty.
