17TH - 18TH C. AYUTTHAYA HEAD

I posted an unsatisfactory picture of this head;  here is a more accurate one that does it credit.  This original period head has a deeply encrusted and multicolored patina, with a wise and serene face.  The sense of depth and antiquity is palpable.  The head is 6.5 inches high, 9 with the built in stand, so it came from a temple sized figure.  There is ample evidence of cuprite formation, and no significant condition problems.  Although significantly smaller, this head has the gravitas of the larger one in Gallery 4.  Bought well, so the price is very reasonable. $500
