19TH C. WOOD AND GLASS TAI YAI BUDDHA

This buddha is a classic presentation of a wooden Tai Yai buddha - a folk style presentation with inlaid old mercury glass, ornamented pedestal base and small  ornamented buddha.  It stands 21.5 inches high including the attached base.  The condition is excellent;  it may have been regilded at some point.  These buddhas have considerable charm, providing a less formal type of buddha, and are very affordable, especially considering their relative size.
