18^th CENTURY THAI AYUTTHAYA WOOD AND LACQUER STUPA

Wooden stupa with gold lacquer, dating to the 18th century (Ayutthaya period). 16 1/2” (41cm) tall. The top is removable. There are losses to the  lacquer and wood body, but the overall impression is still very good.   This is a very unusual and lovely piece, the first one of this type we have seen in our multiple trips to Thailand.  Found in a market.  Send for close-ups if interested to see the detail.  $195
