17TH C. BURMESE BRONZE STUPA

I was extremely lucky to find this rare stupa.  It was sitting in the back of a shop, and had not been correctly assembled (it has five sections), so it did not look like anything.  Otherwise I am certain it would have been sold long before I got to it.  It has just wonderful detailing, and note the lions at the corners.  Originally it had small buddhas in each of the entrances, and one could still put your miniature buddhas there.  It stands 19 inches tall, and is very heavily cast (a massive 60 lbs ), with a deeply encrusted green patina.  I have not seen one like it.
