18TH C. AYUTTHAYA BUDDHA This buddha dates to the end of the Ayutthaya period, and is a transition piece into the later Bangkok/Rattankosin period, as evidenced by the clearly Ayutthaya style figure on a Rattankosin style base. There are remains of the gilding, with an otherwise uniform brown patina. He is large and impressive, standing 19 inches, and makes an impressive display on a cabinet or pedestal. I have sold several of these transitional figures over the past few years, and this one is the best quality one I have had. $2700
