18TH C. BRONZE TIBETAN BODHISATTVA This statue comes to us by way of an associate in Nepal. My error in identifying it as a buddha was pointed out to me by an observant customer, as I had not noticed the extra arms. Thanks for the correction. -Usually I do not buy smaller pieces like this, as the market generally seems to demand larger ones, but this one had such lovely detailing and form that I was charmed by it, and thought that our customers would truly appreciate it. It has a lovely old patina, and an inscription on the base, as well as a relatively uncommon mudra, the Namaskara mudra - in prayer. He stands 6 1/2 inches tall. The base has been opened, as is true of most all of these buddhas, but still has the prayers inside. Sometimes great things do come in small packages.
