18th C. BRONZE STANDING LAO BUDDHA
This Buddha is really elegant. He stands 20 ½” (51cm) tall including the base, which is 1 ¾”. The picture unfortunately does not do justice to the beautiful, smooth, dark brown patina. [It either reflected too much in the lights, or was too close to the dark background without them.] However, the patination is uniform. He has a lovely serene face (ask for a closeup if interested). Lao buddhas have jumped in price as more people have gotten to appreciate their individuality and more subtle beauty.
