18TH-19TH CENTURY AYUTTHAYA STUPA

A large sized wooden reliquary with gilding.  I have sold a number of these in various materials, and they make tremendously attractive display pieces.  This piece has legitimate age, and clearly was used.  (Nobody's inside it, though.)  It stands 16 1/2 inches (41 cm) high  A great deal of the gilding has been lost, due to wear and changes in humidity (see picture below).  What is there now seems pretty stable.  The side in the picture is the good display side.  An extremely attractive piece.  Because of the losses, it is being sold at an excellent price.
